Georges Demeny - The Origins Of The Cinematograph 1909

Georges Demeny, The Origins of the Cinematograph, Paris, 21 rue Hautefeuille (6th), Henry Paulin et Cie, booksellers-publishers, undated [1909], in-8°, 64 p., paperback. Extremely rare brochure from the preparer of Etienne-Jules Marey, published to affirm his role in the history of chronophotography and cinematography. This publication follows the conference given by Demeny at the Ligue de l'Enseignement on February 1, 1909, a conference insolently titled “How did I invent the Cinematograph? and which caused controversy. Demeny publishes at the end of this work, for the first time, the letters addressed by Marey: they indeed show the very important role played by his preparer during their collaboration from 1882 to 1894. Good condition, some traces of pencils on the interior. Engravings in the text.
