Pair of Bulldog bookends in silver spelter on a marble base signed H Moreau on the side. The eyes are in paperweight glass. Work from the 1920s. Note: Wear of the patina by time and on one of the half-visible signature bookends (see photos n° 8) Hippolyte Moreau was born in Dijon on April 1, 1832 and died in Neully sur Seine January 4, 1926 is a French sculptor. He is the brother of Mathurin and Auguste, who are also sculptors. Education: National School of Fine Arts. He mainly produces medium-sized works and decorative or everyday objects: vases, statuettes, letter openers, trinket trays in bronze, spelter and pewter.
