Candlestick executed by Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892) after a drawing by Edouard Lièvre (1829-1886).
Bronze around 1880.

This bronze candlestick has a plain baluster-shaped barrel around which a dragon wraps. It rests on a tripod base with elephant heads. The binet has an openwork decoration of plant motifs. Edouard Lievre collaborated with Ferdinand Barbedienne in particular for the creation of Asian and oriental inspired pieces.
