Young woman sleeping, bronze statuette signed James Pradier bearing the stamp of the Parisian founder Susse frères and dated 184-2(?) very probably produced during the artist's lifetime. Precise chasing and cast iron of good quality, original brown patina. James Pradier major sculptor of the 19th century, (Louis-Philippe period), first prize of Rome in 1813, he received numerous orders from the State, in particular the Victories surrounding the tomb of Napoleon 1st at the Invalides, place de la Concorde the statues of Lille and Strasbourg, the Esplanade fountain in Nimes....
