Paul SZASZ Budapest 1912 Paris 1970 Hungarian artist who arrived in Paris in 1948, his work was first steeped in Fauvism and Expressionism until 1954. Then he moved on to non-figuration and the abstract. He was represented by the Simone Heller gallery. First exhibition in Budapest then he exhibited in Parisian galleries in 1960 and 1963. In 1966, detecting the perfect knowledge of Matisse - Rouault - or Chagall but reconsidering his own sensibility he evolves to abstraction based on a colored sensibility which is developed in contact with nature during frequent stays in the Balearic Islands.
