This small model, in wrought iron, dates from the 19th century.
Structure: Graduated arm with sliding cursor and suspension hook which allowed to weigh objects or foodstuffs by hanging the weight at one end and the load at the other. Very widespread in markets, farms and butcher shops to weigh grains, poultry, hence the Italian term pollaiola.
