"G Lavroff For Paul Milet Panther In Earthenware From The Art Deco Period Around 1930"
Elegant earthenware panther made by Paul Milet on a model by the sculptor Georges Lavroff during the Art Deco period. Paul Milet, a ceramist based in Sèvres, and Georges Lavroff, an animal sculptor of Russian origin who arrived in Paris in 1927, collaborated during the 1930s to produce a whole bestiary in various variations of enamelling, including this highly stylized panther. The shiny black enamelled base, in imitation of a black marble from Belgium, perfectly highlights the panther enamelled with a beautiful, fairly bright green enamel. Good build quality as always with Paul Milet. Length: 46 cm, height: 14 cm, depth: 17 cm Very good condition.
