He took part in the great Parisian monument sites of the second half of the XIXth century for the city hall, the Garnier palace and the commercial court. He exhibited at the salon from 1848 and obtained the second prize of Rome in 1851 (the salon of painting and sculpture called in a general way the SALON is an artistic event which took place in Paris from the end of the XIXth century to 1880. It exposed the works of the artists approved originally by the Royal Academy of painting and sculpture created by Mazarin then by the academy of the fine arts). He is the father of Marcel DEBUT also a sculptor and painter.
