Signed On The Terrace Of The Sculptor Benedict Benoit Rougelet (1834 - 1894). French sculptor born in Tournus on September 17, 1834, and died in Ivry-sur-Seine on July 17, 1894. He is modeling director of a religious sculpture workshop founded by Father Richter, parish priest of Saint-Laurent-lès-Mâcon . In 1866, he was in Paris in the studio of Francisque Duret at the School of Fine Arts. He won the competition for the creation of a monument dedicated to Greuze, in Tournus, inaugurated in 1868.
