Extremely rare South American Miquelet-Lock blunderbuss belt gun Late 18th century, Mexican With a corded silver band around the turned and flared muzzle, the front parts polygonal and inlaid with silver fronds, octagonal breeches with silver foliation on the platters on either side, a broad silver band on the back, foliate-engraved tangs, characteristic fluted-rimmed locks under the pan enclosing the steel spring, solid stocks inlaid with panels of silver secured by silver pins and pierced and engraved with foliage inhabited by monsters, birds and a pair of rabbits, the last in front of the trigger guards, and studded with additional silver pins. The fronts en suite and each inlaid with a silver panel pierced and engraved with a double-headed eagle, silver side plates engraved with foliage each pierced for an iron belt hook with a heart-shaped piercing at the extremity, silver saddles with fluted arches and slender tangs, ovoid bases each in relief and chased with rocailles and foliage inhabited by a pair of rabits, engraved silver frontal bands and original rods with points . The barrel of Spanish form inlaid with silver representing flowers, and inscription in reserve: Miguel !!!! This gun was made by the local goldsmith and blacksmith-
