Pair of pearl gray ceramic cassolettes. Each cassolette is adorned with a pine cone-shaped bronze grip and two bronze handles decorated with foliage and mascarons. They are enhanced by octagonal bases with foliage friezes. The inner ring of one of the lids is missing. The other one has the house mark signed "Escalier de Cristal Paris".
"L'Escalier de Cristal", created in 1804 by Marie Desarnaud, is located in the Palais Royal, n° 162 and 163. The shop was taken over around 1847 by Lahoche and Boin, then Lahoche and Pannier in 1857 and finally Pannier Frères from 1890 to 1923. The House is particularly renowned for having produced decorative bronze objects of very high quality.
One of the lids is missing a bronze mount.
