Signed on the reverse: Anno 1914, On the Seine, Paris W. Baird 18, Impasse du Maine. It is in very good condition.
An extraordinary light in the setting sun of Paris, its quays of the Seine where men and horses work, from which appears the old Palais du Trocadéro built for the Universal Exhibition of 1878. This building of Moorish and neo-Byzantine inspirations was destroyed in 1935 to make way for the current Palais de Chaillot.
Magnificent painting with many details, it is a testimony of a bygone era. The purple and orange colors are very vivid.
