ROYAL ARMCHAIR FROM THE EMPIRE PERIOD
DELIVERED TO THE CHÂTEAU D'EU FOR THE DUC D'ORLÉANS
In gray lacquered wood, the rear and front saber legs, the latter forming projecting armrest supports, flat top, convex front. Rear upholstery in white fabric.
Empire period, 1804-1815.
Stamps "JACOB . D / R . MESLÉE" by Georges Jacob (1739-1814) and François Honoré Georges Jacob Desmalter (1770-1841).
Bears the iron mark "EU" under the crown of Prince of the Blood of Louis-Philippe, Duke of Orléans, and a stenciled inventory number "...90..." (?).
H. 88 x W. 50 x D. 57 cm.
