Oil on canvas dated 1943 and signed E.Selmy for Eugène Selmy 1874 - 1945. Post impressionist painter, pupil of Bonnat and Gleize. Exhibited from 1900 at the Salon of French Artists. Knight of the Legion of Honour......... Probably the artist's most emblematic canvas present in its original tanned frame later.
