18th century cheese press in carved blue stone. Originally from Belgium. A cheese press (basin and stone weight) used in the 18th and 19th centuries to dry and graze hard cheeses before maturing. The Stone is a Belgian stone called "Belgian blue". The press was recently used as a garden decoration.
