A gold and diamond ring set with a nicolo intaglio of Christ.
Italian or German, circa 1670.
Ring size O 1/2 UK / 7.5 US.
The intaglio measures 1.4 x 1.2cm.
The intaglio depicting the head of Christ facing dexter, flanked by two table cut diamonds set in silver. The reverse of the bezel is engraved with a tulip and the split shank is pierced and decorated with flowers.
There is a nibble to the lower right of the intaglio by Christ’s shoulder.
