Biography: Jean Jules Cambos entered the School of Fine Arts in Paris in 1853 thanks to a pension paid to him by the Tarn department and carried out work on the facade of the college in the city of Castres for which he received a crown of gold in 1879. He then obtained orders from the State, in particular the marble busts of General Auger and Alfred de Vigny intended for the galleries of the Palace of Versailles. In July 1881, he was named Chevalier of the Legion of Honor[1]. A street in Castres bears his name. He is buried in the Saint-Roch cemetery in Castres[2].
