Pair of gilt and black patinated bronze sconces with two arms of light which are supported by bust figures which emerge from the bases decorated with a shell and flowers. The two characters, young man and young woman have their heads tilted slightly towards each other. The decorative elements present on these magnificent sconces are typical of the French Regency style which succeeded the more rigorous Louis XIV style. The curves announce the Louis XV style, the gadroons retain the rigor of the Louis XIV style. The asymmetry of the arms of light as well as their graceful movement reinforce a good decorative presence. The gilding is very beautiful, matte and shiny, two finishes that give relief to the sculptures. The chasing of the bronze is lively and precise, the rendering is very beautiful.
