Porcelain Deep Plate, Around 1830
Deep plate in painted and gilded porcelain, Neapolitan decoration atelier, around 1830, Honoré manufacture, Giovine workshop. Brim decorated with polylobed frames, initials MCB in Gothic characters, surmounted by a crown, in the center of the cavetto a miniature depicting a woman spied on by a man. On the back, trace of signature in red.
This dish is part of a service ordered by Maria Cristina di Borbone, daughter of Francesco I King of Naples and wife, in 1829, of Ferdinando VI of Spain. The plate was part of a service performed by the Parisian manufacture of Edouard Honoré and painted in the Neapolitan workshop of Raffaele Giovine between the 1820s and 1830s.
