Nineteenth Century Signed Folding Photographic Camera
Very beautiful photographic camera by A. Schaeffner, 2 rue de Châteaudun - Paris. Plate format 13x18cm. Quality red mahogany construction. Pyramidal rotating bellows in burgundy leather with turned-down corners. Metal parts, including handle, in varnished brass. Steinheil lens/shutter block. The shutter (No. 1596) is of the central guillotine type. Reticulated direct clear circular sight. Back opening carrying a squared frosted glass. Presence of a wooden frame with semi-articulated double shutters. Leather cap. Circa 1890. Very good condition.
