Large Louis XIV Style Garnish
Important cartel and its two allegorical candelabra called "with sea horses" in Boulle style marquetry in brass and brown tortoiseshell, richly decorated with gilded and chiseled bronzes, the enamelled and gilded dial with Roman numerals presenting on the apron Apollo on his chariot surrounded by caryatids at the four angles, the top surmounted by a figure of the goddess Minerva, helmeted, cuirassed, holding spear and shield. The whole rests on four recumbent and harnessed horses, in the style of the models of the Neptune basin at Versailles. Curvilinear base with four rounded projections in Boule marquetry highlighted by a frieze of lambrequins resting on four feet. Napoleon III period. pendulum, key.
