Victor Charreton - Autumn Landscape - Oil On Canvas
Lovely painting by the French post-impressionist painter Victor CHARRETON, founder of the "school of Murol", particularly recognized for his landscapes (Dauphiné, Provence, Brittany, Auvergne...).
Coming from a well-to-do family, his law studies led him to initially become a solicitor of the Lyon Court of Appeal.
He began in 1894 at the Salon of the Lyon Society of Fine Arts.
In 1902, he decided to devote himself entirely to painting.
In 1903, he co-founded the "salon d'automne" with Pierre BONNARD and regularly became president of exhibition juries.
Painter highly sought after by collectors, his works are exhibited in many museums:
Carcassonne, Lyon, Murol, Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand, Bourgoin-Jallieu...
He obviously reachs high values, his paintings regularly selling for tens of thousands of euros.
