A pair of Empire gilt-bronze candlesticks. Each of herm form, with a vase-shaped nozzle supported on three classical female heads, on three pairs of feet upon a circular base.
Early 19th century, after a design by Claude Galle. Height: 27.5 cm X Diameter: 14 cm

This model of flambeaux is commonly associated with work of the leading bronzier Claude Galle (1759-1815), who supplied variants of this model to the Château de Fontainebleau in 1804.
