Meissen porcelain group representing the muse of comedy, Thalia* holding a mask in her left hand, another mask on the terrace, a monkey on her right and a child with a pointed hat in the tree. Model of J.J. Kandler of 1742.
Mark in blue with two crossed swords under the base, mark** in hollow at the bottom of the tree "Thalia" in italics.
Circa1745, 18th century.
Height : 30 cm.
Left arm reattached with restoration of the black mask and a branch of the tree.
* Muse from the series "Apollo and the nine muses" executed for Frederick II the Great (1712-1786) king of Prussia (1740-1786);
** Mark sui would be in the hand of Kandler.
