Antoine Calbet (1860-1944) Naked Woman With Fauna, Art Nouveau, Watercolor Early XX
Watercolor on strong paper framed by a wooden frame and tortoise shell.
The watercolor dates from the early 20th century of the Art Nouveau period. Everything is in very good condition.
Signature lower left: A. Calbet.
Sleeping women with a faun who tickles her with a sprig of wheat. Extremely refined and delicate watercolor drawing, the colors and the light are magnificent. Very poetic painting, it is a hymn to Art Nouveau.
I have seen and had many watercolors by this painter, but this one is really one of the most beautiful.
