Vase en porcelaine blanche. Corée période Joseon (Choson) 19°siècle
Artiste : Gwangju
Hauteur: 27cm. Aucune restauration. Bon état usure d'usage.
White porcelain vase. Korea, Joseon (Choson) period, 19th century.
A rare wheel-thrown Korean white porcelain vase. It features an elegant, characteristically Korean neck that still bears traces of the throwing process. The base is almost entirely covered in kiln grit fused during firing. While many examples of this model exist, few match its perfect proportions; the height, width, curvature, and flare are all in harmony, creating an object of rare elegance. Furthermore, the potter thinned the walls to the absolute limit of the clay's capabilities, achieving the lightness demanded by the piece's aesthetic.
"Never leave any unnecessary material." (B. Leach)
A work by a master potter from the late Joseon dynasty—possibly from the Gwangju royal kilns—dating to the 19th century or earlier. Height: 27 cm. No restoration. Good condition, with signs of use.
