Georges Wallerstein fut élève de Fernand Cormon et Edmond Yon. Il exposa dans divers Salons officiels, dont le Salon des Artistes Français, de 1887 à 1896. Notre oeuvre pourrait avoir été exposé au Salon de Nancy en 1896 sous le numéro 400, dans lequel Wallerstein présente un tableau intitulé "Crépuscule à Antibes".
