En juin 2017, la r\u00e9ouverture du mus\u00e9e, apr\u00e8s d\u2019imposants travaux, a permis la d\u00e9couverte d\u2019une renaissance. En effet, le mus\u00e9e regroupe aujourd\u2019hui la totalit\u00e9 de l\u2019h\u00f4tel de Lazerme et de l\u2019h\u00f4tel de Mailly. Toute une histoire se m\u00eale \u00e0 l\u2019Histoire\u00a0: des retables aux portraits de\u00a0Hyacinthe Rigaud, en passant par\u00a0Maillol,\u00a0Dufy,\u00a0Terrus\u00a0et beaucoup d\u2019autres artistes. Au fil des si\u00e8cles, sur un territoire aragonais puis fran\u00e7ais, les peintres, sculpteurs\u2026 vont s\u2019\u00e9panouir dans un environnement riche d\u2019influences hispaniques, flamandes et italiennes. Les cr\u00e9ations, anciennes et modernes, fleurissent \u00e0 l\u2019ombre de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Perpignan\u00a0gothique<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Du 13<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px\">\u00e8me<\/span>\u00a0aux premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es du 16<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px\">\u00e8me<\/span>\u00a0si\u00e8cle, la p\u00e9riode gothique constitue le premier Age d\u2019or de la ville avec en point d\u2019orgue la cr\u00e9ation du\u00a0Royaume de Majorque\u00a0(1276-1344) qui fait de Perpignan sa capitale continentale. Par ces voies, circulent et fusionnent en Catalogne des influences artistiques venues des Flandres, de France et d\u2019Italie.<\/p>\n<p>La florissante industrie perpignanaise, essentiellement drapi\u00e8re, aboutit en 1388 \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un\u00a0Consulat de mer, juridiction sp\u00e9ciale qui r\u00e9glemente le commerce et les affaires maritimes. Aux 16<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0et 17<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cles, Perpignan est l\u2019objet de luttes territoriales entre les couronnes fran\u00e7aises et aragonaises. Le rattachement du\u00a0Roussillon\u00a0\u00e0 la France, faisant suite \u00e0 la signature du\u00a0Trait\u00e9 des Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>en 1659, met fin \u00e0 cette p\u00e9riode agit\u00e9e. Si la position frontali\u00e8re fragilise la ville, \u00e9pid\u00e9mies et guerres la vident de ses habitants.<\/p>\n<p>Sur le plan artistique, le retable baroque en bois sculpt\u00e9 s\u2019impose au d\u00e9triment de la peinture de chevalet.
