Photographies de l\u2019h\u00f4tel particulier du comte Mo\u00efse de Camondo en 1936."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le mus\u00e9e Nissim de Camondo est inaugur\u00e9 le 21\u00a0d\u00e9cembre 1936, soit un peu plus d\u2019un an apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9c\u00e8s de son l\u00e9gataire, le comte Mo\u00efse de Camondo (1860-1935). R\u00e9dig\u00e9 en 1924, le testament de ce dernier est tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cis et soumet le legs \u00e0 des conditions formelles, parmi lesquelles figure l\u2019organisation du futur mus\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Il est notamment mentionn\u00e9\u00a0: \u00ab<small class=\"fine\">\u00a0<\/small>[\u2026] L\u2019am\u00e9nagement int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019H\u00f4tel devra \u00eatre maintenu tel qu\u2019il sera \u00e0 mon d\u00e9c\u00e8s, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire qu\u2019aucun meuble ou objet d\u2019Art ne devra \u00eatre d\u00e9plac\u00e9 sauf certains si\u00e8ges ou petites tables qui pourraient g\u00eaner la circulation du public mais qui devront rester dans la m\u00eame pi\u00e8ce. Il faudra, autant que possible, \u00e9viter la pose de mains courantes, comme cela se pratique actuellement dans les Mus\u00e9es Nationaux, afin de permettre aux visiteurs de voir les objets plus \u00e0 leur aise et aussi de ne pas d\u00e9truire l\u2019harmonie actuelle de l\u2019H\u00f4tel. Un ch\u00e2ssis est sp\u00e9cialement install\u00e9 dans la cour du mus\u00e9e pour suspendre les tapis et les photographier. Ceux-ci permettent de se repr\u00e9senter la demeure telle qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait du temps de Mo\u00efse de Camondo. Chacun de ces clich\u00e9s originaux porte un num\u00e9ro le diff\u00e9renciant d\u2019autres photographies prises ult\u00e9rieurement.<\/p>\n<p>Vingt et un tirages modernes, l\u00e9g\u00e8rement agrandis, sont aujourd\u2019hui expos\u00e9s dans l\u2019ordre de la visite du mus\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p><strong>L\u2019AGENCEMENT DES SALLES EN 1936<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il respecte au plus pr\u00e8s et avec beaucoup de rigueur les volont\u00e9s du donateur. Cependant, certains am\u00e9nagements ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en place d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but\u00a0: \u00ab<small class=\"fine\">\u00a0<\/small>C\u2019\u00e9tait une bien grande difficult\u00e9 de laisser p\u00e9n\u00e9trer un public, qui sera certainement nombreux, dans les salons, vastes sans doute, mais parsem\u00e9s de meubles et dont les parquets sont rev\u00eatus de tapis pr\u00e9cieux. Dans le catalogue du mus\u00e9e r\u00e9dig\u00e9 par Jean Messelet en 1936, ils ne sont pas inventori\u00e9s dans les collections (car jug\u00e9s incompatibles avec les \u0153uvres d\u2019art d\u00e9coratif fran\u00e7ais du\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">XVIII<\/span><sup class=\"typo_exposants\">e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle<small class=\"fine\">\u00a0<\/small>?). Si quelques-uns sont laiss\u00e9s en place, d\u2019autres sont remplac\u00e9s par des tapis fran\u00e7ais, dispos\u00e9s dans des passages et donc difficiles \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger.<\/p>\n<p>Par ailleurs, des chemins de toile sont fix\u00e9s sur certains exemplaires rest\u00e9s enti\u00e8rement d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s afin de pouvoir marcher dessus sans les ab\u00eemer. Cette derni\u00e8re disposition respecte les volont\u00e9s testamentaires du donateur\u00a0: \u00ab<small class=\"fine\">\u00a0<\/small>Mon h\u00f4tel est orn\u00e9 d\u2019une rare collection de tapis anciens de la Savonnerie ou d\u2019Aubusson<small class=\"fine\">\u00a0<\/small>; j\u2019entends que ces tapis restent tous en place chacun dans la pi\u00e8ce o\u00f9 il se trouve. On note aussi que des cordons de mise \u00e0 distance ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pos\u00e9s d\u00e8s l\u2019ouverture du mus\u00e9e, en d\u00e9pit des dispositions testamentaires qui indiquaient de les \u00e9viter autant que possible\u00a0: \u00ab<small class=\"fine\">\u00a0<\/small>[\u2026] afin de respecter la volont\u00e9 du donateur, les conservateurs du mus\u00e9e des Arts d\u00e9coratifs se sont born\u00e9s \u00e0 mettre sur les objets de discrets num\u00e9ros d\u2019identification, \u00e0 r\u00e9gler la circulation par des cordons protecteurs<small class=\"fine\">\u00a0<\/small>\u00bb. Riesener<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Le vestibule<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e8ce assez peu meubl\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019origine , avec peu d\u2019\u0153uvres expos\u00e9es, le vestibule ne pr\u00e9sentait pas de contraintes particuli\u00e8res pour la circulation des visiteurs. Il a donc conserv\u00e9 son am\u00e9nagement initial avec le grand bureau plat de Riesener. Quelques modifications ont cependant \u00e9t\u00e9 apport\u00e9es au fil du temps car il s\u2019agit de l\u2019entr\u00e9e du mus\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s l\u2019ouverture en 1936, le grand tapis d\u2019Orient a \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9 par un exemplaire de la manufacture de Beauvais (<span class=\"caps\">CAM<\/span>\u00a019) qui se trouvait alors dans la galerie du rez-de-chauss\u00e9e haut. Couverte d\u2019un tapis de la manufacture de Beauvais ) &#8211; actuellement en r\u00e9serve, car tr\u00e8s ab\u00eem\u00e9 -, la table \u00a0poss\u00e8de deux allonges aujourd\u2019hui pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es. La table ronde dont la pr\u00e9sence est av\u00e9r\u00e9e dans cette pi\u00e8ce par l\u2019inventaire dress\u00e9 en 1932 a donc \u00e9t\u00e9 volontairement retir\u00e9e pour la photographie.<\/p>\n<p>Dispos\u00e9e devant les portes-fen\u00eatres de part et d\u2019autre de la fontaine en marbre, la paire de tables servantes de Weisweiler est aujourd\u2019hui plac\u00e9e entre les deux tables en acajou pour \u00e9viter des manipulations quotidiennes. On lui a adjoint le rafra\u00eechissoir de Canabas ) pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 auparavant dans le cabinet des porcelaines. Les changements provoqu\u00e9s par la transformation de l\u2019h\u00f4tel en mus\u00e9e sont ici peu perceptibles.<\/p>\n<p>Afin de d\u00e9gager un passage pour les visiteurs, le tapis a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u00e9g\u00e8rement d\u00e9cal\u00e9 vers la chemin\u00e9e. Quelques fauteuils du mobilier de salon ont \u00e9t\u00e9<br \/>\nmis en r\u00e9serve pour ne pas surcharger la pi\u00e8ce. Tr\u00e8s proche du public, la table \u00ab \u00e0 la Bourgogne \u00bb \u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9plac\u00e9e vers le milieu du tapis. Ce meuble<br \/>\nm\u00e9canique exceptionnel est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ferm\u00e9, mais le public peut l\u2019admirer ouvert \u00e0 dates r\u00e9guli\u00e8res. Les objets qui l\u2019ornaient sont maintenant expos\u00e9s sur le bureau plat \u00a0et la table d\u2019en-cas . Pour m\u00e9nager un passage aux visiteurs, le grand tapis d\u2019Aubusson a \u00e9t\u00e9 partiellement roul\u00e9, invers\u00e9 de sens et d\u00e9centr\u00e9. La paire de fauteuils Louis XVI couverts en velours fonc\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 retir\u00e9e, car elle ne faisait pas partie de la donation.<br \/>\nEn raison de sa fragilit\u00e9 et de la difficult\u00e9 de la prot\u00e9ger du vol, la jatte en porcelaine de Chantilly \u00a0pos\u00e9e sur la table rectangulaire en cabaret\u00a0\u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise en r\u00e9serve et remplac\u00e9e par une \u00e9critoire .<\/p>\n<p>Attribu\u00e9e \u00e0 David Roentgen, la table \u00e0 la Tronchin \u00a0qui se trouvait devant la porte-fen\u00eatre du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du grand salon, est expos\u00e9e depuis sa restauration en 2002 \u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e du grand bureau afin d\u2019\u00e9viter son d\u00e9placement quotidien li\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019ouverture et fermeture des volets. Depuis la restauration de leur couverture en tapisserie d\u2019Aubusson, deux des huit chaises \u00e0 la reine de Foliot \u00a0sont aujourd\u2019hui pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Dans l\u2019alc\u00f4ve, sur le dessus du gradin du secr\u00e9taire \u00e0 cylindre de Saunier , la garniture en porcelaine de Niderviller a \u00e9t\u00e9 prot\u00e9g\u00e9e du vol et de la poussi\u00e8re par une cloche en verre. Dispos\u00e9e devant la porte-fen\u00eatre \u00e0 droite de cette alc\u00f4ve, la table \u00e0 \u00e9crire \u00a0sur laquelle est pos\u00e9 un t\u00e9l\u00e9phone a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise en r\u00e9serve par mesure de conservation pr\u00e9ventive. La table \u00e0 \u00e9crire de Riesener a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9plac\u00e9e vers la gauche de la chemin\u00e9e. Devant les portes-fen\u00eatres, les quatre chaises d\u2019Henri Jacob ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises en r\u00e9serve en raison de leur \u00e9tat<br \/>\nde conservation m\u00e9diocre. D\u00e9t\u00e9rior\u00e9e suite aux d\u00e9placements dus \u00e0 l\u2019ouverture et fermeture des volets, la table \u00e0 d\u00e9jeuner de Riesener \u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 restaur\u00e9e. Etant donn\u00e9 la disposition du mobilier, on comprend les difficult\u00e9s auxquelles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9s les conservateurs pour permettre la circulation du public, tout en conservant l\u2019harmonie et la sym\u00e9trie de cet am\u00e9nagement.<\/p>\n<p>Le tapis qui se trouvait dans le passage vers ce salon a \u00e9t\u00e9 transf\u00e9r\u00e9 dans le d\u00e9gagement inaccessible au public, situ\u00e9 entre le grand salon et le<br \/>\ngrand bureau. A l\u2019origine sur la console, la pendule au Chinois a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9plac\u00e9e sur l\u2019un des bas d\u2019armoire \u00a0du salon des Huet.<\/p>\n<p>Le passage des visiteurs m\u00e9nag\u00e9 le long des fen\u00eatres a entra\u00een\u00e9 plusieurs bouleversements notables. Le paravent de Boulard \u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9ploy\u00e9<br \/>\nvers la porte qui donne sur la galerie, en face de son emplacement d\u2019origine. Le tapis de la Savonnerie \u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u00e9g\u00e8rement repouss\u00e9 et le secr\u00e9taire \u00e0 cylindre d\u2019\u0152ben \u00a0plac\u00e9 en biais pour en faciliter l\u2019observation. Enfin, les deux berg\u00e8res de Sen\u00e9 \u00a0ont \u00e9t\u00e9 dispos\u00e9es de part et d\u2019autre du paravent.<\/p>\n<p>Tous les objets proches des visiteurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9plac\u00e9s par mesure de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<br \/>\nD\u2019autres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en r\u00e9serve comme la paire de flambeaux en argent dor\u00e9 \u00a0de l\u2019orf\u00e8vre Fran\u00e7ois-Thomas Germain \u00a0et les trois petites coupes en porcelaine blanche de Chine, dispos\u00e9es sur le dessus du gradin du secr\u00e9taire \u00e0 cylindre d\u2019\u0152ben, furent prot\u00e9g\u00e9es par une cloche en verre jusqu\u2019aux ann\u00e9es 1970, puis retir\u00e9es par souci de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans une vitrine blind\u00e9e, destin\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019orf\u00e8vrerie.
