Ce label r\u00e9compense chaque ann\u00e9e les mus\u00e9es de France qui mettent en \u0153uvre un projet d\u2019exposition remarquable par sa qualit\u00e9 scientifique, ses efforts en mati\u00e8re de m\u00e9diation culturelle et son ouverture \u00e0 un large public.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\">L<\/span>e partenariat franco-am\u00e9ricain nou\u00e9 \u00e0 cette occasion permet de r\u00e9v\u00e9ler aux publics europ\u00e9ens et am\u00e9ricains une s\u00e9lection de 130 chefs-d\u2019oeuvre, de Caravage \u00e0 Rembrandt ou Georges de la Tour, rarement pr\u00eat\u00e9s, rendue possible par la coop\u00e9ration d\u2019institutions internationales aussi prestigieuses que la National Gallery de Londres, le Palais Pitti de Florence, le mus\u00e9e du Prado de Madrid&#8230; color: #ff0000;\">N<\/span>\u00e9 en 1571 \u00e0 Milan, mort en 1610 \u00e0 Porto Ercole, <strong>Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, dit Caravage<\/strong>, est une figure r\u00e9volutionnaire dans la peinture occidentale. Apparaissant sur la sc\u00e8ne artistique romaine alors que na\u00eet l\u2019esth\u00e9tique baroque, Caravage s\u2019impose rapidement gr\u00e2ce au caract\u00e8re radicalement novateur de son art. Son utilisation magistrale du clair-obscur, comme le cadrage \u00e0 mi-corps de ses figures, donne \u00e0 ses compositions une puissance dramatique in\u00e9dite, tandis que sa lecture r\u00e9aliste, qui m\u00eale trivial et sacr\u00e9, rend accessible l\u2019art religieux au commun des mortels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\"> L<\/span>\u2019artiste inaugure de nouveaux th\u00e8mes, comme les sc\u00e8nes de jeu ou de taverne, les diseuses de bonne aventure, les musiciens. Son \u00e9l\u00e8ve Manfredi transmet de la fa\u00e7on la plus sensible l\u2019h\u00e9ritage de la sc\u00e8ne de genre d\u00e9crivant jeux, rixes ou duperies, aupr\u00e8s des peintres \u00e9trangers, notamment fran\u00e7ais (Vouet, Valentin\u2026), flamands et hollandais (Seghers, Honthorst\u2026). L\u2019\u00e9cole d\u2019Utrecht perp\u00e9tue aux Pays-Bas le clair-obscur dramatique que Rembrandt portera \u00e0 son sommet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\">P<\/span>arall\u00e8lement, \u00e0 Naples, o\u00f9 Caravage a s\u00e9journ\u00e9 \u00e0 deux reprises, son style aboutit au t\u00e9n\u00e9brisme de Ribera puis se diffuse en Espagne avec Vel\u00e1zquez et Zurbar\u00e1n. Artiste au confluent des cultures nordique, italienne et fran\u00e7aise, Georges de La Tour, d\u2019abord tr\u00e8s marqu\u00e9 par le Caravagisme dans le jeu de clair-obscur, l\u2019entra\u00eene vers une esth\u00e9tique plus contemplative et moins dramatique.
