Ce genre pictural est tr\u00e8s peu repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans les collections publiques et priv\u00e9es fran\u00e7aises. Ses \u0153uvres entrent en r\u00e9sonance avec celles de <strong>Gaspar van Wittel, Luca Carlevarijs, Michele Marieschi, Bernardo Bellotto et Francesco Guardi <\/strong>qui s\u2019impose comme le dernier ma\u00eetre ayant r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 immortaliser l\u2019enchantement et l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gance du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle v\u00e9nitien. L\u2019exposition \u00ab Canaletto \u2013 Guardi, les deux ma\u00eetres de Venise \u00bb pr\u00e9sente une vingtaine de ses toiles.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #ff0000\">L<\/span>e Mus\u00e9e Jacquemart-Andr\u00e9 pr\u00e9sente \u00e9galement des \u00ab caprices \u00bb : de remarquables sc\u00e8nes d\u2019une Venise imaginaire, peintes par Canaletto, Guardi et Bellotto. Si Canaletto accorde, tout au long de sa carri\u00e8re, une place toujours plus importante au travail de la perspective et \u00e0 la pr\u00e9cision quasi scientifique de la transcription du r\u00e9el, Guardi va renouer avec le go\u00fbt des effets atmosph\u00e9riques que cultivait Canaletto \u00e0 ses d\u00e9buts (Canaletto, <em>La Place Saint-Marc vers l\u2019est<\/em>, Madrid, Mus\u00e9e Thyssen-Bornemisza). <strong>Chacun \u00e0 leur mani\u00e8re, Canaletto et Guardi repr\u00e9sentent l\u2019expression la plus aboutie de l\u2019art de la <em>veduta<\/em>.<\/strong> C\u2019est pourquoi l\u2019exposition se propose de mettre en regard les \u0153uvres majeures de ces deux ma\u00eetres, pour montrer les liens profonds qui les unissent, mais aussi ce qui les distingue.<\/p>\n<div class=\"olsen-light-responsive-embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mus\u00e9e Jacquemart-Andr\u00e9 - Exposition &quot;Canaletto-Guardi. La confrontation de leurs tableaux et dessins montre une forte filiation, mais aussi de r\u00e9elles diff\u00e9rences, et cherche \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer l\u2019essence de leur interpr\u00e9tation personnelle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #ff0000\">S<\/span>ensible \u00e0 la ma\u00eetrise de la perspective de Canaletto et \u00e0 son sens de la mise en sc\u00e8ne, Francesco Guardi s\u2019est, \u00e0 de nombreuses reprises, inspir\u00e9 des compositions de son c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur. Mais il sait \u00e9galement y apporter de subtiles inflexions : \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019une lumi\u00e8re naturelle et au grand soin apport\u00e9 aux d\u00e9tails chez Canaletto r\u00e9pondent sa fantaisie et sa sensibilit\u00e9. Les grands ma\u00eetres v\u00e9nitiens ont oeuvr\u00e9, tout au long du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle, pour satisfaire la demande incessante de prestigieux commanditaires europ\u00e9ens qui souhaitaient emporter, comme souvenirs, des repr\u00e9sentations des monuments et des f\u00eates de la S\u00e9r\u00e9nissime. Comme peu d\u2019artistes italiens \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, les v\u00e9dutistes\u00a0 ont su s\u2019approprier la culture du si\u00e8cle des Lumi\u00e8res et utiliser les d\u00e9couvertes scientifiques les plus r\u00e9centes et les instruments optiques les plus sophistiqu\u00e9s. Chefs-d\u2019oeuvre de l\u2019art europ\u00e9en du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle, ces vues de Venise, d\u2019une cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 aussi moderne que po\u00e9tique, sont de pr\u00e9cieuses repr\u00e9sentations d\u2019une ville unique au monde.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #ff0000\">L<\/span>\u2019exposition s\u2019ouvre sur une pr\u00e9sentation des grands ma\u00eetres v\u00e9nitiens parmi lesquels Canaletto a fait ses d\u00e9buts comme v\u00e9dutiste.
