Jusqu&rsquo;au\u00a0IX \u00e8me si\u00e8cle, le travail du cuivre r\u00e9pondait essentiellement \u00e0 des besoins utilitaires\u00a0; il fallait fabriquer des chaudrons et des ustensiles de cuisine. \u00c0 partir du\u00a0X \u00e8me\u00a0si\u00e8cle, il s&rsquo;\u00e9tend \u00e0 la production d&rsquo;\u0153uvres d&rsquo;art, surtout d&rsquo;art religieux.<\/p>\n<p>En 1466, la ville de Dinant, \u00e9cras\u00e9e par Charles le T\u00e9m\u00e9raire, perd sa pr\u00e9\u00e9minence au b\u00e9n\u00e9fice de l&rsquo;Allemagne et des Flandres. Les outils employ\u00e9s sont les barres de t\u00f4lier mais aussi les rouleuses m\u00e9caniques (type planeur, pyramidale, &#8230;etc)<\/li>\n<li>Le cintrage consiste \u00e0 former les parties de type couronne, de forme comparable \u00e0 celle d&rsquo;un sabre. Le cintrage est ce qui est obtenu lorsqu&rsquo;une partie de t\u00f4le ou un profil\u00e9 sont form\u00e9s dans l&rsquo;axe du moment d&rsquo;inertie le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9. Dans le cas d&rsquo;un tube (moment d&rsquo;inertie identique quel que soit l&rsquo;axe de formage) on emploie toujours le mot cintrage. Les outils employ\u00e9s sont les machines \u00e0 cintrer, des presses et aussi le marteau et les formes associ\u00e9es (jamais de rouleuse).<\/li>\n<li>Le pliage consiste \u00e0 effectuer un pli selon le rayon le plus petit possible sans endommager le mat\u00e9riau. Les outils employ\u00e9s sont les plieuses, les presses plieuses mais aussi les pinces et le marteau associ\u00e9 \u00e0 des artifices tels que les m\u00e2choires vis-\u00e9crous, les \u00e9taux munis de corni\u00e8res de protection&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>L&#8217;emboutissage consiste \u00e0 former les parties non d\u00e9veloppables comme des cols de cygne (bec de th\u00e9i\u00e8re par exemple) ou encore des formes sph\u00e9riques, toriques ou quelconques (vases, coupes). Les outils employ\u00e9s sont le maillet \u00e0 emboutir, le marteau \u00e0 boule, les diff\u00e9rent tas (plomb, sali\u00e8res, etc.) ainsi que les machines d&#8217;emboutissage m\u00e9caniques ou hydrauliques. Il existe aussi le formage au tour \u00e0 repousser, ce mode de fabrication n&rsquo;est pas consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une technique noble par les dinandiers.\u00a0Il existe aussi le formage au tour \u00e0 repousser, ce mode de fabrication n&rsquo;est pas consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une technique noble par les dinandiers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>La r\u00e9treinte permet de lever un bord (par exemple le bord d&rsquo;une tourti\u00e8re). Les principaux outils sont le marteau \u00e0 r\u00e9treindre ainsi que les presses.<\/li>\n<li>Le bordage consiste \u00e0 s\u00e9curiser le bord d&rsquo;une pi\u00e8ce en escamotant les ar\u00eates tranchantes. Les outils employ\u00e9s sont les marteaux \u00e0 r\u00e9treindre et \u00e0 rentrer ainsi que les machines \u00e0 border. L\u2019agrafage, qui est un moyen d&rsquo;assemblage, utilise pratiquement la m\u00eame technique et les m\u00eames outils.<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"thumb tright\">\u00a0Le pr\u00e9-planage se fait au maillet tonneau voire au marteau. Il permet d&rsquo;\u00e9liminer les grosses irr\u00e9gularit\u00e9s (creux ou bosses) de la mise en forme. Le coup est portant.
