(vers 1830-1834)<\/strong><br \/><strong>Estampe nishiki-e, format ?ban<\/strong><br \/>\u00a9 Mus\u00e9es royaux d\u2019Art et d\u2019Histoire, Bruxelles<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Con\u00e7ue en deux volets \u00a0afin de garantir la bonne conservation des oeuvres les plus fragiles, l\u2019exposition pr\u00e9sente 500 oeuvres exceptionnelles\u00a0retra\u00e7ant le parcours de l&rsquo;artiste japonais, dont une grande partie ne quittera plus le Japon \u00e0 compter de l\u2019ouverture du mus\u00e9e Hokusai, \u00e0 Tokyo en 2016. Le propos\u00a0g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et le parcours sc\u00e9nographique resteront les m\u00eames, mais une centaine d\u2019oeuvres sera remplac\u00e9e en cours\u00a0d\u2019exposition : les estampes seront remplac\u00e9es par des estampes \u00e9quivalentes, souvent issues de la m\u00eame s\u00e9rie ; les\u00a0peintures sur soie et sur papier seront interverties avec des oeuvres de nature et de qualit\u00e9 comparables. Son travail immense refl\u00e8te, avec une intensit\u00e9 saisissante, la vie et la culture du Japon. Par son foisonnement et sa puissance cr\u00e9ative, l&rsquo;\u0153uvre d&rsquo;Hokusai fut une source d&rsquo;inspiration in\u00e9puisable pour les artistes. Il a profond\u00e9ment influenc\u00e9 l&rsquo;art occidental et fortement contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la diffusion du japonisme dans les arts europ\u00e9ens. Nombreux sont les artistes fran\u00e7ais de la fin du XIXe si\u00e8cle \u00e0 avoir admir\u00e9 le modernisme du ma\u00eetre et sa ma\u00eetrise de la repr\u00e9sentation de la nature.
