{"id":15700,"date":"2023-05-07T15:45:33","date_gmt":"2023-05-07T14:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.proantic.com\/magazine\/?p=15700"},"modified":"2026-01-01T11:03:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T10:03:33","slug":"madeleine-attribuee-a-francesco-montemezzano-verone-1555-1600","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.proantic.com\/magazine\/madeleine-attribuee-a-francesco-montemezzano-verone-1555-1600\/","title":{"rendered":"Madeleine attribu\u00e9e \u00e0 Francesco Montemezzano (V\u00e9rone, 1555 &#8211; 1600)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>La toile repr\u00e9sentant la figure de Madeleine qui laisse derri\u00e8re elle la vie dissolue d\u2019une p\u00e9cheresse pour embrasser celle d\u2019une p\u00e9nitente est, par la reddition des \u00e9toffes, la force de la figure et l\u2019usage savant de la palette, constitu\u00e9e de pigments pr\u00e9cieux et savamment modul\u00e9s, \u00e0 relier \u00e0 la figure de Francesco Montemezzano (V\u00e9rone 1555 &#8211; 1600)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u00c9l\u00e8ve dans l\u2019atelier de Paolo Veronese et de son fr\u00e8re Benedetto Caliari, l\u2019artiste a \u00e9t\u00e9 actif sur le territoire v\u00e9nitien\u00a0: en 1570, un acte notari\u00e9 le signale \u00e0 Tr\u00e9vise pour prendre part avec Benedetto Caliari \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation des fresques qui ornent la salle ducale du palais \u00e9piscopal; en 1583, l\u2019artiste se trouve \u00e0 Sacile, o\u00f9 il peint les fresques dans la salle de bal du Palazzo Ragazzoni. Cinq des six \u00e9pisodes (un, d\u00e9tach\u00e9, se trouve \u00e0 la Gem\u00e4ldegalerie de Dresde) tir\u00e9s de la vie du noble frioulan Giacomo Ragazzoni (1528-1609), personnage de premier plan du monde marchand et diplomatique v\u00e9nitien, en contact avec des repr\u00e9sentants de haut niveau du patriciat lagunaire. (c)<a href=\"https:\/\/www.proantic.com\/galerie\/ars-antiqua-srl\/\"> Ars Antiqua srl<\/a>, Proantic<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>L\u2019artiste se trouva ainsi faire partie des plus importants chantiers d\u00e9coratifs de la construction civile v\u00e9nitienne de ces ann\u00e9es-l\u00e0, au c\u0153ur de l\u2019\u00e9picentre politique de la ville, probablement en exploitant les liens de Paolo Veronese, prot\u00e9g\u00e9 de Contarini et proche de l\u2019\u00e9lite du gouvernement. Le miroir est le plus grand symbole de Vanitas; point de m\u00e9ditation sur la \u00ab\u00a0vanit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb et la caducit\u00e9 des choses terrestres selon ce qui est \u00e9crit dans le livre biblique de Qohelt.
