Les visiteurs d\u00e9couvrent, \u00e0 travers ces dessins, les d\u00e9cors de la rue Spontini o\u00f9 chaque objet y a sa place, soigneusement pens\u00e9e, tels que ceux du grand vestibule, le d\u00e9cor Directoire, le salon des pastels qui rassemblent des oeuvres d\u2019Hubert Robert, Jean Honor\u00e9 Fragonard, Louise \u00c9lisabeth Vig\u00e9e Le Brun, Antoine Watteau et Fran\u00e7ois Boucher ou enfin le majestueux salon aux lambris anciens et modernes de style R\u00e9gence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019exposition retrace, tout au long du parcours, les liens \u00e9troits entre ces deux collectionneurs contemporains l\u2019un de l\u2019autre. Si Jacques Doucet et Mo\u00efse de Camondo ne semblent pas avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 proches ou m\u00eame s\u2019\u00eatre fr\u00e9quent\u00e9s, ils ont pourtant en commun une passion pour le\u00a0XVIII<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle et des d\u00e9marches de collectionneurs tr\u00e8s comparables. Comme Doucet, Camondo a d\u00e9j\u00e0 une collection qu\u2019il entreprend d\u2019enrichir pendant la construction de l\u2019h\u00f4tel. Spectaculaire, la vente aux ench\u00e8res de la collection de Doucet en 1912 attire les plus grands mus\u00e9es, marchands et amateurs, fran\u00e7ais et \u00e9trangers, dont Mo\u00efse de Camondo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019exposition r\u00e9v\u00e8le les pratiques distinctes de ces deux collectionneurs&nbsp;: contrairement \u00e0 Camondo, tr\u00e8s attentif \u00e0 la coh\u00e9rence temporelle des \u0153uvres qu\u2019il assemble et qui se concentre sur des objets dat\u00e9s de la seconde moiti\u00e9 du&nbsp;XVIII<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;si\u00e8cle, Doucet fait primer l\u2019\u00e9quilibre visuel de l\u2019accrochage sur sa coh\u00e9rence historique ou intellectuelle.
