{"id":15446,"date":"2023-03-23T13:42:09","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T12:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.proantic.com\/magazine\/?p=15446"},"modified":"2023-03-23T14:20:06","modified_gmt":"2023-03-23T13:20:06","slug":"biscuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.proantic.com\/magazine\/biscuits\/","title":{"rendered":"BISCUIT(S)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>L\u2019exposition de soixante-dix sculptures, du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle \u00e0 nos jours, met en lumi\u00e8re la vari\u00e9t\u00e9, la finesse et la virtuosit\u00e9 du model\u00e9 des biscuits de S\u00e8vres, qui participent \u00e0 la l\u00e9gende de la Manufacture.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Invent\u00e9 en 1752 \u00e0 S\u00e8vres pour se d\u00e9marquer des autres productions de Meissen en Saxe ou de Chine, \u00e9maill\u00e9es et peintes, le \u00ab biscuit \u00bb d\u00e9signe une p\u00e2te de porcelaine qui, contrairement \u00e0 ce que laisse supposer son nom \u00ab bis-cuit \u00bb ou cuit deux fois, ne subit qu\u2019une seule cuisson \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature et ne re\u00e7oit ni \u00e9mail ni d\u00e9cor. Le terme d\u00e9rive de l\u2019italien biscotto qui, dans les fa\u00efenceries italiennes de la Renaissance, d\u00e9signait la p\u00e2te avant cuisson dont l\u2019aspect \u00e9pais et grumeleux rappelait sans doute la p\u00e2te \u00e0 biscuit des p\u00e2tissiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette invention, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant la blancheur de la mati\u00e8re et les d\u00e9tails les plus fins qui ne sont plus aplanis par la couche d\u2019\u00e9mail, rencontre rapidement le succ\u00e8s aupr\u00e8s de membres de la cour et incite l\u2019institution \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper cette production. R\u00e9alisation du mod\u00e8le en argile crue, travail du pl\u00e2tre pour confectionner des moules, nouvelle technique de moulage par estampage et contr\u00f4le de la cuisson d\u00e9licate de la porcelaine \u00e0 sa plus haute temp\u00e9rature r\u00e9v\u00e9lant cet effet unique \u00e9voquant le marbre blanc : la technique est encore \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre dans les ateliers de la Manufacture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"665\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_NTIfp0NI2E?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=fr-FR&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Le d\u00e9cor de la table b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie tout particuli\u00e8rement de ce renouveau de la sculpture \u00e0 S\u00e8vres et les biscuits, en compositions de plusieurs \u00e9l\u00e9ments, de la simple paire faisant \u00e9chos \u00e0 la sym\u00e9trie alors en vogue dans les d\u00e9cors \u00ab Rocaille \u00bb au plus large surtout, mettent en sc\u00e8ne les nouvelles salles \u00e0 manger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces nouveaux objets d\u00e9coratifs et la pratique des cadeaux diplomatiques sous les r\u00e8gnes successifs de Louis XV et Louis XVI vont, d\u00e8s lors, largement participer \u00e0 la grande diffusion des biscuits \u00e0 travers l\u2019Europe, \u00e0 leur reprise par les diff\u00e9rentes manufactures europ\u00e9ennes et \u00e0 l\u2019association durable du biscuit au go\u00fbt et au savoir-faire fran\u00e7ais dans les arts d\u00e9coratifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> L\u2019exposition Biscuit(s) r\u00e9unit un groupe de figures embl\u00e9matiques cr\u00e9\u00e9es \u00e0 S\u00e8vres du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle \u00e0 aujourd\u2019hui : elle pr\u00e9sente ainsi le travail d\u2019artistes illustres du si\u00e8cle des Lumi\u00e8res, membres de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie royale et amen\u00e9s \u00e0 diriger les ateliers de la Manufacture : les sculpteurs Jean-Jacques Bachelier, \u00c9tienne Maurice Falconet ou Louis-Simon Boizot et des biscuits reproduits d\u2019apr\u00e8s des gravures du peintre Fran\u00e7ois Boucher. Les savoir-faire de S\u00e8vres depuis lors mis au service de l\u2019art se sont enrichis des contributions successives des artistes invit\u00e9s.
