Pourtant, l\u2019Ouzb\u00e9kistan, centre intellectuel, culturel, artistique au carrefour de l\u2019Inde, de la Chine et de l\u2019Iran, reste largement m\u00e9connu. Les royaumes du milieu et l&rsquo;apog\u00e9e d&rsquo;un art de cour<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0\u00a0partir de la fin du III<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle, nous assistons \u00e0 un d\u00e9veloppement majeur du commerce et \u00e0 un enrichissement des royaumes sogdiens (au centre de l\u2019Ouzb\u00e9kistan actuel), dits du milieu car entre la Chine et la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<br>L\u2019art de cour atteint son apog\u00e9e \u00e0 partir du\u00a0IV<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle.\u00a0Les monumentales peintures murales des r\u00e9sidences princi\u00e8res de Varakhsha \u00e0 l\u2019ouest de Boukhara, aujourd\u2019hui dispers\u00e9es dans diff\u00e9rentes collections, sont exceptionnellement mises \u00e0 l\u2019honneur gr\u00e2ce aux pr\u00eats majeurs du Mus\u00e9e des\u00a0 Beaux-Arts de Tachkent et \u00e0 une reconstitution num\u00e9rique qui nous plongent dans un palais de l\u2019oasis de Boukhara pendant l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de l\u2019Islam. Un autre ensemble du d\u00e9but du VIII<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle, issus d\u2019une r\u00e9sidence aristocratique d\u2019Afrasyab nous transporte \u00e0 Samarcande. Instauration d&rsquo;un pouvoir islamique et islamisation culturelle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0\u00a0partir du d\u00e9but du VIII<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle, l\u2019Islam s\u2019impose en Asie centrale entra\u00eenant une islamisation politique et culturelle progressive, comme en t\u00e9moignent les deux feuillets d\u2019un des plus anciens corans, dit\u00a0<em>Coran de Qatta Langar,<\/em>\u00a0v\u00e9ritable chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre des d\u00e9buts de l\u2019Islam en Asie centrale. Ce renouveau culturel est perceptible dans le d\u00e9cor architectural, notamment gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un ensemble monumental de stucs et textiles, ainsi qu\u2019un nouveau style de c\u00e9ramiques, sur lesquelles la calligraphie sera un motif r\u00e9current. D&rsquo;Avicenne \u00e0 Gengis Khan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La p\u00e9riode entre le XI<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0et le XII<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle\u00a0est marqu\u00e9e par le r\u00e8gne sur ce territoire de la tribu turque des Qarakhanides (originaire de la r\u00e9gion de Kashgar), contemporains des Seldjoukides qui eux r\u00e8gnent en Iran et plus \u00e0 l\u2019ouest. Cette culture islamique int\u00e8gre aux sources arabe et persane, une culture nomade asiatique. La culture mat\u00e9rielle peut \u00eatre appr\u00e9hend\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des chefs-d\u2019\u0153uvre en m\u00e9taux pr\u00e9cieux (or, argent, m\u00e9tal cuivr\u00e9 cisel\u00e9, incrust\u00e9 et serti). Cette nouvelle culture impose aussi la langue turque, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l\u2019arabe et du persan.<br>L\u2019invasion de Gengis Khan renforce cette identit\u00e9 r\u00e9gionale est-asiatique.
