Marble And Bronze Fireplace Trim - Late Nineteenth flag

Object description :

"Marble And Bronze Fireplace Trim - Late Nineteenth"
Mantelpiece set with rectangular and molded base, in morello cherry and mauve brocatelle marble, including a rotor clock. This is topped with a bronze sculpture with a brown patina, signed Adolphe Maubach on the terrace, representing a young violinist in a hat, wearing a long cape and holding his violin in his hands. Adolphe Maubach is a 19th century French sculptor. He is known for his allegorical and fanciful subjects, and is the author of the monument to Marc Seguin de Tournon-sur-Rhône, the inventor of the tubular boiler. This set also includes two vases, in patinated bronze, with gadrooned collars. These are decorated with acanthus leaves, scrolls, shells and two heads of chimeras as handles. The bases rest on small gadrooned top feet. This violinist, witness of the hours, will know how to touch you by the meticulous work of the artist.
