"Bronze "
Bronze with silver patina signed Thomas François Cartier (1979-1943), on terrace in striated marble color Terre de Sienne. This French sculptor, late practitioner of the animal style, is known for having participated in the Paris Salons from 1904, for which he won a gold medal in 1927. "The Deer Attacking a Dog" is a naturalist work, representing a large deer charging a dog with its antlers. The latter on the ground, cornered, reveals an expression of fear and pain. The artist presents these two animals at the moment when the fight takes a decisive turn. Time seems suspended. This bronze, charged with intensity, will seduce amateurs and collectors of works of art.********
