Discreet painter vis-à-vis history, Marcel Renaud was born in Corrèze. Before coming to settle in Saint Léon sur L'Isle, near Saint Astier, he trained in Toulouse. He often represents the surroundings of his place of life, always in a thick touch worked with a knife and works in which we could find the Périgord paternity of Jean-Louis Daniel.
Our large canvas represents a farm in autumn. In the foreground the plowing is fresh and contrasts with the white earth of the hill where the limestone stands out, standing out from the red poplars.
