Attributed to Thomas Sergent (Thomas Victor Sergent active in Paris between 1870 and 1885 is considered one of the greatest followers of Palissy in the 19th century with Victor Barbizet (1805-1870) and Georges Pull (1810-1889). Thomas-Victor Sergent, (1830-1890), French artist and ceramist, was an important member of the School of Paris.In 1870, he established his studio and shop south of Paris and participated in several international exhibitions in London, Vienna and Amsterdam He is mainly known for his vases, planters and tobacco jars.His work is done by modeling and molding on which brightly colored enamel is applied.
