"Italian Earthenware Plaque - Eighteenth Century"
Italian earthenware plate (probably from the Abruzzo region) in a round and curved shape in earthenware with polychrome decoration of high fire, representing a pastoral scene depicting a shepherd playing the flute, the shepherdess in the back spinning the wool accompanied by a putti also spinning the wool, against the backdrop of the landscape.
Firing defect (enamel bubbles) restoration on the edge (hidden by the frame) and consolidated crack (restorations visible only on the reverse - see photos) - modern frame.
