"Antique Umbrella, Carved Wooden Handle, Grapes, Vine, Circa 1850"
Antique umbrella. The wooden handle is carved with bunches of grapes and vine leaves. The silk has been changed and this parasol can therefore be used. Like many mid-19th century parasols, a sliding ring allows it to be folded in half to ride in a carriage. It measures 13,78 inches closed and folded in half, 25,19 inches long unfolded and approximately 20,86 inches in diameter open. France, circa 1850.
