Nelly Meret : Watercolor "the Rest Of The Ship"

Nelly Meret (?-1999): "The rest of the ship", watercolor 26 X 34 cm, mounted in its original frame approximately 40 X 50 cm. Many light foxing. Thanks to Monsieur Creveau, I can finally say that it is Nelly Cadiot who signed her watercolors "Meret" with her mother's name. She lived in Paris then in Bayonne (her husband was a doctor there) then in Ciboure. She exhibited at the Salons des Indépendants. Offered in June 1977, we can assume that it was made around this date. Still, this delicate watercolor titled “The rest of the ship” and showing a Venetian woman in a coat on her back with a boat in the distance is very charming… Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone.
