Violin-shaped clock in gilded bronze, Louis XV period, XVIIIc.
Model of Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain (Paris 1719-1791)
It is decorated with large scrolls, rockeries and flowering branches.
An identical model is referenced in "la pendule Française" by Kjellberg p.112
With its large enamelled dial with asymmetrical winding holes (small chips).

In very good general condition, in its original gilding.

After a close examination with a magnifying glass of the model referenced in the Kjellberg, it seems that it is this clock which is illustrated (same flakes at the winding holes and other concordant details. )
