"Earthenware Makeup Pots, Moustiers Decors In The Taste Of The Eighteenth Century"
Moustiers earthenware make-up pot with rotating decorations in blue. For the largest pot: a decor of a tavern owner holding his bottle and his glass in his hand against a barrel surrounded by flowers, foliage and insects. For the second: a Chinese decor and his dog surrounded by flowers, foliage and insects. For the third and fourth: a decor of male figures surrounded by flowers, foliage and insects. The four lids are decorated with an apple, flowers and insects. In the 18th century, make-up pots were found inside hairdressers, often in numbers of four or more and surrounded by small utensils used for the toilet. Beautiful set that will complete a Louis XV vanity unit. Very decorative and in very good condition, beautiful reissue in the spirit of the 18th century.
