Robert Louis Stevenson, born November 13, 1850 in Edinburgh and died December 3, 1894 in Vailima (Samoa), was a Scottish writer and a great traveler, famous for his novel "Treasure Island" (1883), for his short story "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (1886) and for his story "Voyage avec un âne dans les Cévennes" (1879).
