Gabriel Fauré, born May 12, 1845 in Pamiers and died November 4, 1924 in Paris, was a French pianist, organist and composer. A pupil of Saint-Saëns and Gustave Lefèvre at the Niedermeyer School in Paris, he was first choirmaster of the Madeleine church in Paris.
