Vase Signed Georges Jean Enamelled Copper Seahorse Art Nouveau Marine Ref402

GEORGES JEAN (XIX - XX th).

Rare small Art Nouveau vase in enamelled copper decorated with four seahorses and stylized algae or corals on a seabed.

It is in good condition, no deformation, no knocks, no lack, little wear, presence of some original cooking cracks under the enamel that could at first glance be taken for knocks, we find them all inside the other side of the copper (see photos).

It is signed on the side in the enamel: GEORGES-JEAN.
BIOGRAPHY: The works of GEORGES JEAN are relatively rare on the market (this is probably linked to a small production).
Born in Versailles, Jean Georges was active in the second half of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century.
He signs his work Georges-Jean.
He notably worked for Les-Essarts-le-Roi. He also exhibited his enamels on several occasions at the Paris Salons and at the Universal Exhibition of 1900.
His enamels can be found in various museums, including the Berliner Kunstgewerbemuseum and the Musée Petit Palais in Paris.
