Miniature silver-plated metal altar featuring a stylized chapel with a poly-lobed arch. It contains a Tibetan amulet, called a tsatsa, made of polychrome terracotta and seated in a box protected by a small glass window. 

The silver-plated metal pediment is embossed with nine Buddhist emblems and the head of Makara on the lower part, against a background of foliage. 

It is kept in a fabric pouch decorated with dragons. Its strap is held in place by a pair of buttons. 
This portable altar brought protection to its bearer by preventing illness.
